January Member of the Month: McKenzie Nunn

McKenzie has been inspired by everything the organization represents. After attending Bulldog Bonanza and meeting welcoming members, she began going to meetings, even though she is an Accounting and Finance major, but quickly realized how valuable marketing knowledge and connections can be in any career.

One of her favorite memories is a meeting where members partnered up and “pitched” themselves to the group, creating a fun and engaging way to build connections. Being involved has helped her grow socially and professionally, strengthening her confidence and communication skills.

Mckenzie is especially proud of assisting with the planning of the annual Gala, where she has helped with donation requests, venues, food, and decor alongside dedicated board members she looks up to.

A fun fact about her is that she once traveled to Costa Rica on her own for the first time, where she swam in waterfalls, visited a volcano, and embraced a new culture. A experience that strengthened her independence and confidence.

She describes the club as amiable, engaging, and altruistic. While she doesn’t have a favorite tradition, she loves the relaxed activities that help members connect, especially the monthly donuts everyone enjoys. Moving forward, she hopes to continue building her presentation and communication skills through the club’s supportive environment. Her advice to prospective members is simple: Go for it. Getting involved has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
