Finding Her Place in AMA

Paris Edington has significantly benefited from her AMA experience, from attending her first meeting to becoming a more confident and outgoing leader. She joined AMA at the recommendation of friends who were already members to improve her resume and gain valuable skills.

But why did she stay? The friendships, the professional growth, and the sense of purpose that goes beyond simply obtaining a degree. "AMA has helped me grow professionally by building my skills, resume, and abilities," Paris says. "I still have trouble standing and speaking in front of crowds, but AMA has improved my public speaking tremendously. "She also credits her increased extroversion and interest in her peers' personal and professional lives to the organization.

Proudest AMA Moments

Paris isn't particularly proud of any specific event but loves everything from fundraising tables to class visits. One specific highlight? Working with the volleyball team was an experience she found both entertaining and rewarding. Looking ahead, she is excited to be going to this year's International Collegiate Conference.

Personal Growth Through AMA

Her most significant development as a person? Self-assurance. "Public speaking has always been a stressor, but now I’m fairly confident in my abilities. Additionally, I now understand Canva better because of AMA.

Beyond AMA: Fun Facts About Paris

Paris enjoys watching her most recent Netflix binge, The Night Agent, or rewatching shows like Gilmore Girls and Bones when she's not engaged in AMA activities. She’s also a big coffee fan, with a go-to order of caramel vanilla cold brew with sweet foam. A smooth Earl Grey tea latte is her go-to option if she's not having coffee.

Fun fact: Paris has visited both Italy and France, with the highlight being Paris, but her perfect getaway is Greece due to her passion for Mamma Mia "The island in the movie, Kalokairi, is fictional, but the filming took place on the Greek islands of Skopelos and Skiathos. It would be an incredible experience to visit such locations in person.

A True Crime Enthusiast

If Paris could have dinner with anyone, it wouldn’t be a historical figure. It would be either JonBenét Ramsey's parents or the Menendez brothers. She finds true crime fascinating and would love the opportunity to learn things that the media doesn't always report.
