March Member of the Month: Emma Burnham

For nearly a year, Emma Burnham has been an active and enthusiastic member of the club, bringing creativity, positivity, and a passion for marketing to everything she does. With a minor in marketing and a strong interest in social media, Emma joined with the goal of learning new skills and meeting new people, and she’s done exactly that.

Emma’s journey with AMA has been filled with memorable moments, but one stands out above the rest. Her favorite memory so far was the AMA picnic, where she had the chance to relax, connect, and truly get to know fellow members outside of meetings. It was a simple event, but for Emma, it represented what makes the club so special: community, connection, and fun.

Since joining, Emma has stepped outside her comfort zone and built meaningful friendships along the way. She credits the club with helping her grow personally while also strengthening her professional skills. Through her involvement, she’s developed stronger communication abilities, improved her leadership skills, and gained hands-on experience with business branding.

One project that stands out as particularly meaningful to Emma was working with Rural Housing Solutions on their branding. Seeing the client’s excitement when the brand guide and flyers were revealed made the experience especially rewarding. For Emma, that moment reinforced why she enjoys marketing; the opportunity to make a real impact and help others bring their vision to life.

Outside of the AMA, Emma has a unique and fun hobby that many members may not know about: she raises and shows cattle or as she calls them, “fluffy cows.” Agriculture is something she’s deeply passionate about, and it remains one of her favorite ways to spend her time.

When asked to describe AMA in three words, Emma chose: "Inviting, Exciting, and Eye-Opening." She also shared that the monthly donuts and upbeat pop music remind her of the club’s fun and energetic atmosphere.

Looking ahead, Emma is excited about her new role as VP of External Communications. She hopes to expand her experience in marketing and social media, while also using analytics to help grow the club’s online presence. She’s eager to bring knowledge from her previous jobs into her new position and continue building her professional skills.

Emma’s advice to new or prospective members is simple but encouraging: “Just go for it, join AMA! It’s really helpful, and you can learn a lot of new things. Even if you’re completely new to marketing, this is a great place to start and grow.”

With her enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for learning, Emma continues to make a meaningful impact in AMA and we’re excited to see all she accomplishes next.
