This semester marks Avery’s first with the American Marketing Association at Ferris State University, and in just a few short months, the experience has already made a lasting impact, earning him the title of Member of the Month. With a minor in marketing, Avery joined AMA to connect with like-minded students, gain hands-on experience, and explore creative ways to grow in the field of marketing.

Favorite AMA Memory So Far
One of his favorite memories so far has been the club’s trip to Cedar Point. For Avery, it was more than just a day of fun. It was a chance to bond with other members, build friendships, and see how teamwork extends beyond the classroom. The experience reminded him of how important community and collaboration are in both personal and professional growth.
AMA's Impact on Avery
Since joining AMA, Avery has been inspired to focus on his personal brand and explore new ways to market himself. The organization has helped him gain confidence and creativity, motivating him to push his limits academically and professionally. This motivation also led him to one of his proudest accomplishments, making the Dean’s List for the first time with a GPA above 3.5.
Averys Goals and Advice
If Avery had to describe AMA in three words, he’d choose inspiring, friendly, and full of opportunities. He says the club reminds him of pizza, always different and full of variety. Each meeting brings new perspectives, experiences, and opportunities to get involved.
Looking ahead, Avery hopes to use what he’s learned in AMA to continue building his personal brand and pursue a future in sports marketing, where his outgoing personality and ability to connect with others will shine.
His advice for anyone thinking about joining AMA is simple: just give it a shot, because you might find that a few weeks in, your perspective changes in all the best ways.
