Christian Slater is the new Vice President of Finance. He is working toward his degree in Business Management with a minor in Risk Management and Insurance. After earning his degree, Christian hopes to become an underwriting manager at a large insurance company. A company such as Quicken loans would be his ideal company. In addition to that, he aspires to open his own gym someday. As a member of this year’s e-board, he is looking forward to being there to support all members by being an approachable leader. Christian plans to expand his involvement with AMA and continue to connect with as many members as he can. Nola is another one of the events that he is looking forward to. One of his goals is to develop a more simplified way to manage the financial portfolio for AMA Ferris. He would also like to ensure that AMA Ferris reaches its highest potential by increasing membership, being a top five chapter, and receiving another top RSO honor here at Ferris. Christian stated that he decided to become a member of AMA to “ be a part of something bigger than myself”. Throughout his life, Christian has gone with the idea of just doing the minimal amount demanded from him. However, with a new outlook on life, his motto has shifted to just go for it, get out of your comfort zone, and be better. He wants to be able to leave an impact on members.
When it come’s to Christian free time he enjoys spending time with his dog. He loves the outdoors and playing sports. Wrestling and working out are also activities that he enjoys. When it comes to music anything but country music can be found on his playlist. His newest hobby that he has started is mastering his mixology skills. Over the summer he will be continuing to work at Ruby Tuesday right here in Big Rapids. He also plays on finding a little time for travel as well. Places he is planning to go to over the summer are Traverse City, Frankenmuth, Cedar Point, and possibly a trip down to Tennessee.
“He who says he can and he who says he can’t are both usually right” and the Rocky quote. His favorite would have to be’ “The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.” This has impacted his life and his wrestling significantly.
